Government employees will start receiving productivity bonus worth five thousand pesos starting next week.
“We will be providing our employees the PEI worth P5,000 as recognition of their efforts and consistent showing this year. We also hope to motivate them further to increase their efficiency and overall performance as we collectively continue pursuing our socio-economic development goals,” Department of Budget and Management Secretary Florencio Abad said.
Employees who are eligible for PEI are employees who are in active service as of October 31 and have rendered at least a total or an aggregate of four months of service for the year. While employees who have served less than four month will receive a pro-rated PEI.
PEI of employees from national government agencies will be coming from the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund of the 2014 national budget. For employees from government owned and controlled corporations and government financial institutions, PEI will be from their respective operating budget this year.
Employees from Local Government Units are eligible for PEI, however, rates will be provided by their respective local councils subject for availability of funds.
