President Benigno S. Aquino II, during a bilateral meeting with South Korea’s President Park, expresses Philippines’ plan to formulate comprehensive strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea that will bring opportunities for two countries.
“President Aquino conveyed the Philippines’ intention to pursue a comprehensive strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea,” Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. said. Aquino said that Philippines and South Korea are sister democracies facing same threats and challenges of an evolving region.
“President Aquino reiterated the Philippines’ support for efforts on the peaceful denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and the early resumption of the six-party talks,” Coloma added.
Aquino is currently in South Korea for the ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit.
