President Benigno Aquino III, after initially cancelling the trip, now decides to attend Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-Republic of Korea Summit 25th Anniversary Commemorative Summit in South Korea on December 11, 12.
“This trip will afford the President the opportunity to articulate the Philippine position on issues of both national and global importance, including those connected to climate risk and disaster preparedness, and the dangers posed by the Ebola virus,” Deputy President Spokesperson Abigail Valte said today, December 9.
Valte assured that the President will continue to monitor post-Ruby humanitarian and relief operations.
Aside from attending the summit and meeting South Korean President Park Geun-hye, Aquino will attend a Korean traditional arts and crafts exhibition. The Philippine President will also meet CEO of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and other ROK officials.
