United States of America Embassy in Manila offers Lockheed C-130 “Hercules” cargo aircraft and three Lockheed P-3C “Orion” maritime surveillance planes for air assessment and monitoring, Philippine government-run news agency said.
According to Armed Forces 7th Civil Relations Group commander Major Emmanuel Garcia, US Embassy also offered medical, relief workers and other support when need arises in connection with post typhoon Hagupit, locally named as Ruby, humanitarian and relief operations.
AFP added that eleven countries have already expressed willingness to carry out disaster relief and humanitarian missions.
General Gregorio Pio Catapang said, “we have already activated the MNCC (multi-national coordination center) and we have 11 countries who have 11 countries who have signified their intention to assist us.”
Included in eleven countries are Australia, Japan, United States, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and China.
