“Siguro naman hindi magandang tingnan na sabihin ni Neri na suhol, na parang ang babaw ng tingin naman niya sa mga mahistrado ng Korte Suprema,” Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said in media briefing.
Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares was quoted saying Malacananang is bribing the Supreme Court, through augmentation fund for the high court, to get favorable ruling on Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA).
Lacierda noted that additional fund will “augment the 2014 e-government fund for the Enterprise Information Systems Plan of the Supreme Court by Php 715 million.”
According to President Aquino additional budget for Supreme Court will “help the judiciary in our common fight against corruption amongst others, making sure we are compliant with all the directives.”
Lacierda also slammed Colmenares for saying only businessmen will benefit from the emergency power being asked by President Aquino to prevent power crisis next year. Lacierda said Colmenares is “talking as a politician, he’s talking as a populist” not as an engineer.
