Twenty-two PAF personnel involve in hazing video detained

Twenty-two Philippine Air Force personnel are currently detained at Villamor Airbase in Pasay City for their alleged involvement in an hazing incident last August. The hazing was video recorded and was uploaded online which caught the attention of Filipinos through social networking website earlier in November.

The said hazing video was uploaded with title “Ultimate Military Training Of The Philippines”.

PAF spokesperson Lt. Col. Enrico Canaya said in a TV report that nine out of 22 personnel were recommended for dismissal from service, while the remaining 13 will undergo investigation. Identities of the said PAF personnel were not revealed as the investigation continues.

Armed Forces of the Philippines public affairs chief Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc earlier in November said that hazing in military has long been removed.

In the video, men in camouflage uniform are seen beating several individuals wearing camouflage and civilian clothing.
