Militant farmers vandalized PNoy’s place at Times

“They did not only create violence but actual physical injuries against our law enforcers who were there just to implement the law. That’s why we can say that was excessive use of freedom of expression,” Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio ‘Sonny’ Coloma Jr. told Radyo ng Bayan DZRB in an interview.

Coloma was commenting on the unjust actions in front of President Benigno S. Aquino III’s residence at Times Street in Barangay West Triangle, Quezon City done by Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas. KMP protesters went uncontrollable that injured 12 personnel of the Philippine National Police.

The rally was held November 29. Protesters were crying for alleged raising human rights violations and militarization in provinces.

QC Police District director Senior Supt. Joel Pagdilao said that protesters were given enough time to peacefully voice out. When the time to end the rally came protesters asked for 10-minute extension, however, after given extension they started vandalizing the place.

“We have a lot of experience in rallies like that and the protesters also know that we do not tolerate vandalism or destruction of private property,” Pagdilao said.

Antonio Flores, secretary general of the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas was arrested and is facing serious physical injury and direct assault against persons in authority charges.
