Senator Jinggoy Estrada was allowed by Sandiganbayan to undergo a two- hour therapy session at the Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning.
According to Dr. Reyes, Estrada needs to undergo a supervised therapy and program at least two to three times a week. Furthermore, Reyes professed that Estrada requires special equipment that are not available at the PNP General Hospital like ultrasound, transcutaneous nerve, hydro collator and cervical traction. The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division granted his request to go through a series of medical check- up and therapy after Estrada complained of backaches the past days.
The said senator is facing plunder case before the graft court in connection with PDAF scam together with Janet Napoles and other lawmakers. In addition, Estrada is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City and is not allowed to go anywhere else.
“After due consideration of both oral and written arguments of the parties, and for humanitarian reason, the court resolves to grant accused movant’s prayer over the objection of the prosecution,” the Sandiganbayan said. Further, the Sandiganbayan provided an escort to Estrada to make sure that he will not go to any other place other than Carlos Santos Memorial Hospital in San Juan City.
