Mall operators in Metro Manila and the Metro Manila Development Authority have made an agreement to adjust mall hours this coming holidays. New mall hours will be effective starting November 28 and will extend up to January 3, 2015.
On the said dates mall hours will start at 11 a.m. and will end at 11 p.m.. However, on December 24 and 31 operating hours will be from 12 noon to 7 p.m., while on December 25 and January 1 operating hours will be from 12 noon to 8 p.m..
Stakeholders made sure that salaries of workers and possible earnings of mall operators will not be trimmed down. With this development, closing and opening of malls will not coincide with the rush hour in the morning and evening, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said today, November 21.
Tolentino said that most operators agreed on the said hours, except malls withing supermarkets that open regularly at 9 a.m..
