Binay camp might go to Supreme Court to stop Trillanes, Pimentel, Cayetano

“We are studying the possibility of elevating the matter to the SC,” United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) Interim Secretary General JV Bautista told DZBB. UNA may seek the intervention of Supreme Court to stop the current Senate Blue Ribbon sub-committee investigation regarding the alleged corrupt practices in Makati City.

“The Vice President does not want to face the subcommittee hearing because of what the three senators are doing,” Bautista added. Senators Aquilino Pimentel III is the chair of the sub-committee while Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Antonio Trillanes IV are regular attending members.

Bautista also questioned why the sub-committee hearing still continues when the mother committee has already issued an invitation to VP Binay. “The logical thing would have been for the subcommittee to defer its proceedings in deference to the mother committee.”

He added that VP Binay is not interested in attending the mother committee hearing. “Because apparently, Senator Guingona cannot constrain these out of control senators.”

Vice President Binay is not yet making a decision regarding invitation of the mother committee, hearing is scheduled on November 6, Thursday this week.

Senator Cayetano said, “instead of facing us, instead of answering the questions, instead of airing their side, they are attacking us three senators and the process.”
