Binay should attend Senate probe – 79 percent of Filipinos

Seventy-nine percent of surveyed Filipinos want Vice President Jejomar Binay to attend the Senate Blue Ribbon sub-committee hearing regarding the alleged overpriced Makati City Hall Building II.

Social Weather Stations says out of 79 percent who agree, 57 percent strongly agree while 22 percent somewhat agree that Binay should face the Senate probe. Ten percent of the surveyed Filipinos disagreed and eleven percent are undecided. The survey involved 1,200 respondents done September 26 to 29.

However, Vice President Binay previously ruled out attending the probe. “I won’t dignify that kind of proceeding by attending it. Ladies and gentlemen, I am the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines.” Binay claims that the hearing is a part of an operation against him running for presidency in 2016.

“It is all part of the script – Operation Anybody but Binay,” the Vice President said in an event of Public Attorneys.

“This will come to pass soon, and you will see me in the bigger political arena, fighting Goliaths in an effort to become part of a better future,” Binay said during the recent awarding ceremonies for the 10 Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
