Binay denounces Aquino admin’s ‘selective justice’

In a Public Attorney’s Office event held Tuesday, October 14, Vice President Jejomar Binay denounced President Aquino administration’s selective justice. This is after the Office of the Ombudsman and Department of Justice announced that they will doing separate investigations on the alleged overpriced Makati City Hall Building II.

“There is selective justice. We, the opposition are the primary targets. Matapos mapakulong ‘yung tatlo (Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Juan Ponce Enrile and Bong Revilla), wala na,” Binay says in his speech using English and Filipino.

He added that Budget Secretary Butch Abad does not want to release documents of DAP. While PNP Director General Alan Purisima still has no case.

Binay speaking about DAP, “There is no such animal in the law called DAP. Whatever they say, there is really none. What is there defense? Wow, ang depensa is the end justifies the means.”

After Binay’s criticism on Aquino administration’s alleged selective justice, UNA Spokesperson Representative Toby Tiangco said Binay will always serve at the pleasure of the President. Tiangco added that Binay was not talking about the President.

An ally of President Aquino, Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice said Binay should resign as one of Aquino’s cabinet members “dahil namamangka po siya sa dalawang ilog.” VP Binay should know “whether he’s the opposition leader or an alter-ego of the President being a member of the Cabinet.”
