22 firms interested to build P122.8B Laguna express-way dike

Public Private Partnership Center conducts Investors Forum on the Laguna Lake Expressway Dike project today at The Conservatory Of The Manila Peninsula.

Among 64 companies who attended the forum 22 bought the pre-qualification documents for the Laguna Lake Expressway Dike project.

The group who bought the documents were from Philippines, Malaysia, France, India and Australia. Among the interested companies are Muhibbah Engineering, GT Capital Holdings, Ayala Land, Egis Projects S.A., Megaworld, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, Minerales Industrias Corporation, Leighton Contractors, JV Power and Wealth Corporation, LT Group, Laguna Lakeshore Consortium, Filinvest Land, Macquarie Securities, San Miguel Corporation, Megawide Construction Corporation, Aboitiz Equity Ventures, JG Summit Holdings, PT Star Line, State Properties Corporation, MTD-Hanshin-VistaLand Consortium, IL/FS Transportation Networks Ltd. and Vinci Concessions.

Cosette V. Canilao of PPP Center told possible bidders, “We hope that we have peeked your interest. We are working to make the PPP process as smooth as possible. We look forward to the day that this project comes to fruition.”

Laguna Lake Development Authority Secretary J.R. Nereus O. Acosta said the project will aid congestion in Metro Manila, provide flood mitigation infrastructure, enhance hydrology for the ecosystem of the Laguna Lake.

The government aims to receive bid proposals on July 2015. According to project’s timeline, Notice to Proceed is scheduled to be issued September 2015. The whole project is expected to be constructed in six years after 8 months of design process.
