PNoy: accusation against VP Binay may be true or false

President Benigno S. Aquino III said just like all the Filipinos he is monitoring the Senate investigation on the alleged overpriced building of Makati City government through via media coverage.

“The information I have now, I rely primarily on what the media has been putting out in the papers.”

He added that he is hoping that the truth will come out.

“At the end of the day, the truth will set us all free. Do I have knowledge as to the veracity of the accusations against the Vice President? I have no personal knowledge of the same,” Aquino’s comment on VP Binay’s stand that the probe is politically motivated.

“I have nothing to add, at this point in time, on the truth or falsehood of the accusations against the Vice President,” the President said.

On the other hand Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) says that the Senate probe is clearly political.

“It is clearly hypocritical for President Aquino to unleash his attack dogs against VP Binay and other leaders of the opposition, while shielding himself and his allies from similar demands and mechanisms for accountability,” Bayan chairperson Carol Araullo said.
