Eight firms interested to build Laguna Lakeshore Expressway Dike

The Laguna Lakeshore Expressway Dike Project (LLEDP), Aquino administration’s largest Private-public partnership project, has already kicked off. According to latest information from PPP Center, there are eight interested bidders for the project.

PPP Center executive director Cosette Canilao identified Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd, GT Capital Holdings Inc, Ayala Land Inc, Megaworld Corp, Metro Pacific Investments Corp, Minerales Industrias Corp, Egis Group, and Leighton Contractors (Philippines) as interested firms to do the 47-kilometer expressway over a flood control dike from Taguig to Los Banos.

These companies acquired pre-bidding documents from the center. If really interested they will have to submit pre-qualification documents on or before October 16 this year.

This process will check legalities, technicalities and financial requirements set by the implementing agency which is the Department of Public Works and Highways. If they passed, the bidders will be requested to submit their bids documents.

As described by PPP Center, some of the possible bidders are world leaders in marine construction.

The project will need to reclaim approximately 700 hectares. This project is expected to ease transportation to the southern part of Luzon and solve the problem of flood in areas near Laguna lake.
