“I intend to file a resolution to look into our existing laws on our culture and national heritage,” Senate Committee on Education Arts and Culture chair Senator Pia Cayetano. The female senator wants a Senate investigation on the construction of DMCI’s Torre de Manila.
“Torre de Manila, DMCI Homes’ newest one-tower condominium, is an exclusive residential community right in the heart of the city,” as described by the developer DMCI.
The condominium is planned to have more than 40 floors and the construction is currently at 17th floor.
“We cannot be ruled by circumstances just because we have failed to implement our laws. So that’s what I want to look into. What are really the repercussions of this? Because before you know it, there will be so many violations,” Pia Cayetano explained.
“For many years I think that we have not been very consistent and strong about implementing our existing Laws on our culture and national heritage,” the female Cayetano added.
“Yung mata lang ang ating nabubusog, pero maraming walang trabaho dito sa atin kaya kelangan siguro tignan din natin yung kapakanan ng mga mahihirap,” Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada told ABS-CBN last week.
