The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now inviting bidders to submit pre-qualification requirements, proposals to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the P122.8-billion Laguna Lakeshore Expressway-Dike Project (LLEDP). Interested bidders are given until October 16 this year to submit their proposals.
The project aims to mitigate flooding in the western coastal communities along Laguna Lake, from Bicutan, Taguig in Metro Manila through Calamba to Bay in Laguna and to ease traffic congestion by providing motorists an alternate route in going to and from Laguna, avoiding the existing Calamba-Los Baños route, making travel time shorter and more convenient. As stated by government’s Public-Private Partnership Center.
When finished, Laguna Lakeshore Expressway-Dike will further enhance the economic development of Laguna with greater access to tourism spots in the Southern Tagalog Region.
One of the interested bidders is San Miguel Corporation.
The project has the three components: About 47 kilometers expressway dike with two sections the Laguna Lakeshore Expresswaay Dike (LLED) and Calamba-Los Baños Toll Expressway (CLB), Flood Control System, and initial 700 hectares reclamation component.
