PAGASA warns parts of Luzon and Visayas from landslides and flashfloods

Early Monday, July 21, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said “At 4:00 AM the eye of Typhoon Henry [with international name Matmo] was located based on all available data at 340 km Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.1°N, 127.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 20 kph.”

PAGASA forecasts that the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

While Batanes and Babuyan group of islands, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, MIMAROPA, Bicol region and Western Visayas may experience moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The government weather forecast agency also warned these Luzon and Visayas provinces from landslides and flashfloods.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have monsoon rains.

Batanes, Babuyan and Calayan group of islands, and Cagayan is now under Typhoon Signal No.1.
