National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) will soon have a state-of the-art building to serve as the agency’s command center for a seamless disaster response through modern information technology in Camp Aguinaldo.
The government will not spend a single centavo for the said project. An information technology firm with its partners will handle all the expenses for creating the said center.
“We know the challenges the government is facing. What we want to do is highlight our competence as a company to be able to do such kind of project,” SMS Global Technologies President Anthony Angeles said.
“The important thing is a lot of people, our current partners, are asking ‘how can we help,’” Angeles added.
The construction cost of the said command center is roughly around P250 million to P300 million. Angeles said that industry partners have already pledged P100 million.
The said center is a three-storey building in a 600 square meters land inside Camp Aguinaldo. “The most important aspect here is the additional capabilities like the higher bandwidth,” NDRRMC Executive Director Alexander Pama said.
