Binay to register new party this month, possible senatorial bets named, excellent in survey

Vice President Jejomar Binay is set to register his new party this month with the Commission on Elections. Name of the said party is yet to be unveiled.

Navotas City Rep. Tobias Tiangco, secretary general of the United Nationalist Alliance said that UNA will remain as the main party in coalition with Manila city Mayor Joseph Estrada’s Partido ng Masang Pilipino.

Included in the possible senatorial bets of UNA are Manny Pacquiao, Sherwin Gatchalian, Lito Atienza, Tito Sotto, Richard Gordon, and Juan Miguel Zubiri.


“VP Binay is still looking for his vice presidential candidate but there are no names yet,” Tiangco said . “He’s always consultative. He always listens to opinions of people.”

Recent SWS survey shows Binay has excellent public satisfaction conducted March 2014. According to the survey 82 percent of Filipinos are satisfied with the VP’s performance and 9 percent were not satisfied yielding a net score of +73 or “excellent.”

“The results of the first quarter Social Weather Stations survey are expressions of appreciation for Vice President Binay’s performance. He is again grateful to the people for their trust and confidence and to the President for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Cabinet,” said Binay’s spokesman.
