President Benigno Aquino III is set to visit Japan next week to meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and to deliver a speech at Hiroshima in an event hosted by Japan International Cooperation Agency.
“According to presidential peace adviser Teresita Deles, Mr. Aquino is expected to deliver a speech during the JICA-hosted event in Hiroshima on June 24 after his meeting with Abe in Tokyo on the same day,” as reported by Manila Standard Today.
Aquino’s one-day trip will focus on Philippines’ economic and security cooperation with Japan.
Previous report says that Japan is making Philippines its investment manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia region.
Japan, like the Philippines, also has a growing territorial dispute with China.
