Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. who will soon be in jail visited the cities of Metro Manila to personally thank his supporters. He said in an interview he saw people cry and he felt their continued support and trust for him.
Revilla added that if the Filipino people will call for it, he will run for presidency in the 2016 national election. He also said he is innocent.
The senator is one of three senators who are awaiting arrest after plunder charges were filed at the Sandiganbayan.
Revilla, along with Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile, can still run for a position on 2016 not until they are convicted.
Secretary Leila de Lima said running is up to the senator’s delicadeza. “The decision whether or not to run in spite of these big cases filed against him is actually addressed to his sense of personal delicadeza and sense of utmost responsibility towards upholding national interest.”
