South Korea pledged a landing utility ship, sixteen rubber boats, and computers for Philippines to boost the capabilities of PH Navy.
According to Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin who went to South Korea last week and met his South Korean counterpart Defense Minister Kim Kwan Jin, “They (South Korea) gave an LCU (Landing Craft Utility), rubber boats, and computers.”
“This will help upgrade the capabilities of our navy. It will specifically help in the transport of goods,” said Peter Paul Galvez, Department of Defense spokesman. “We can expect its delivery, most probably, next year.”
Philippines earlier signed a PhP18.9 billion with South Korean Aerospace Industries for the delivery of 12 FA-50 jets. First two are expected to be delivered next year with expected date of completion on 2017.
